A Get Well Soon Love Poem, by Cami

Dear Nate,

I love you when you're healthy,
and I love you when you're not.
I love you when you're coughing, sneezing, and spouting out green snot.

I love you when you're puking,
even though it's really noisy.
(sometimes I think they can hear you puking all the way in Boise!)

When you miss the toilet,
and douse the tub instead.
I love you even when you miss the bucket and get the bed.

And so I'll bring you soup,
and tell you you're courageous.
And tuck you in, and kiss your cheek (even though you're probably contagious).

I'll read you your study notes (boring!)
Let you sleep all afternoon,
But most of all, I'll beg and plead with you to hurry, GET WELL SOON!

Love, Cami
:-)

Nate's been really sick for the past three days, and while talking to one of his Dr. teachers today, we were advised to get him tested for meningitis if his fever spiked again (he had viral meningitis when he was a child).

So at 102.8 (F), we hopped in the car and drove over to the hospital. Luckily, when you have a history of meningitis you don't have to wait long in the ER. We were given the royal treatment and escorted right in, to our private room (past other patients on stretchers in the hallway...it was a busy night).

Poor Nate, waiting for the results of the lumbar spinal tap
(to check for meningitis)

Me, studying for my final which I will take in about 3 hours.

(I spend way too much time in the hospital.)

The results came back negative for meningitis, but positive for influenza. Don't worry fellow Touro students, he won't be coming back to school until Tuesday. Also, next year he is DEFINITELY getting his flu shot.

1. I always love a clever, rhyming poem.

And 2. I hope Nate gets better super soon! That does not look like fun for either of you.

I liked your poem, but I didn't like the images in my head. But you will make a very good nurse Cami!

No good at all! Glad it wasn't meningitis though. And on the up side, we didn't hear a thing up here in Boise. :)

Wasn't Nate just sick??? I hope he gets better soon.

I guess he didn't eat enough dirt as a child??
